Pair of Vintage 1970s/80s Character Erasers in Original Sleeves | Made in Hong Kong
A particularly charming pair of vintage novelty erasers, each complete with its original illustrated card sleeve.
The little shaped erasers slide into the sleeves so that their faces appear through the cut-out windows, completing the characters printed on the front. One depicts a little girl carrying flowers, the other a little boy with his tiny toy hanging around his neck.
Removed from their sleeves, the complete characters are revealed on the erasers themselves.
A wonderfully playful piece of vintage stationery design, believed to date from around the late 1970s to 1980s. There are no visible maker's marks or dates, so I cannot date them precisely.
Both original illustrated sleeves have survived, which is particularly lovely and makes the pair feel like a tiny time capsule from an old-fashioned pencil case or stationery shop.
Believed to date from around the 1970s to early 1980s and marked Made in Hong Kong, these are wonderfully nostalgic examples of the novelty stationery produced during the period.
Condition: Vintage condition with age and storage wear. The card sleeves have marks, rubbing, small areas of surface loss and general wear, while the erasers themselves have some marks and ageing. Please see all photographs for condition.
Sold together as a pair, complete with both original sleeves.
